Hi Firstly a big thanks to Kerry for all her help with my purchase. I will be staying from January 21st to the 29th. Could I please have the card sent to the hotel for collection on my arrival. I would like to start using the card immediately though ie. I would like to book Starline tours before arriving in LA. If this means I need an e-card can you please arrange. Thank you. Your service is impeccable. Leanne

LA Perks Pass, June 14, 2010

"I live in L.A., and bought this card for 2 reasons - one was that we had company who wanted to go to Universal Studios and Knott's Berry Farm. Right off the bat, the card paid for itself in the savings at Universal Studios. The $18 per ticket savings at Knott's Berry Farm was icing on the cake. Or crust on the pie, I should say, since we're taking "berries"... The 2nd reason we bought it was for the restaurant discounts. We eat out too much - we love it. Some of our favorite restaurants - like Fin McCool's and Lula Cocina Mexicana - have a 25% discount with the LA Perks Pass. Our entire family gets 25% off of our food at 3 of our favorite restaurants and 20% off of food at another 3 of our favorites, with an initial outlay of $29.99 for the card. I think this is a new deal - at least I only found it a month ago. I wish I'd had it 5 years ago. If it continues being as good as it is right now, I will be a loyal, buy-it-every-January-1st customer from now on. Plus, I had a question about K1 Speed, and the person at LA Perks Pass that I spoke with went out of her way to find out the answer for me. Low price, great discounts, great customer service. Does it get any better than this?"

Savings equalled a free day of vacation, June 12, 2010

"I bought the LA Perks Pass online while researching things to do on our vacation. I compared several other passes but didn't want to shell out $200+ bucks in advance in case we wanted to be a little spontaneous. At $29.99 it's a very minimal upfront fee for access to discounts that quite frankly I couldn't find in one product in a similar price point. In fact, I don't think there's anything else out there like the LA Pass at least for the price since one card was good for 4 people versus the other products that you have to buy 1 for each member of your family. I say this only because I couldn't find anything else out there like it and even this site doesn't have anything (except for the other Passes/Cards that were out of my price range). We had it mailed to us and it arrived within 2 days. The Pass comes with a guidebook that is simple and easy to use. We sat down as a family and I read off the places in the book and we voted on which to go to. Vacation days: (Day 1 we got in late and went to bed) Day 2 went to Universal Studios ($8 Discount with the LA Pass X 4 People = $32 in savings) Ok, so the Pass had paid for itself and I was feeling justified!!! We ate dinner that night at Dukes West Hollywood and saved $15 with the 20% discount. Day 3 Movie Stars Homes Tour ($4 Off 2 Adult Tickets and $3 Off 2 Kids Tickets = $14 in Savings) then Madame Tussauds Wax Museum ($5 off X 4 People = $20 in savings) and the Hollywood Museum ($3 off X 4 = $12 in savings). Yes, Day 3 was a long day but we saved $46. Day 4 we went to Santa Monica beach and the pier. We got $5 off of our Pacific Park unlimited ride wristbands X 4 = $20 in savings. We also ate lunch in SM at Border Grill (not to be confused with On The Border which is where we thought we were going) Wow, were we surprised and extremely happy with our mix up of restaurants. Border Grill was a little pricy but well worth it and TOP NOTCH! We got 20% of our meal with the LA Pass. I can't remember how much we paid but I'm sure we saved at least $15. We ate dinner at Geisha House, it's not the cheapest or most family friendly place but we definitely felt like rock stars in there! We also saved 15% and that probably came to $20 in savings. Ok, day 5 and the final full day in LA. We went to Knott's Berry Farm and saved $40 for all 4 of us. All in all we saved $188 - $29.99 (cost of the card) = $158. We could've used more of the restaurant discounts but we like to be a little spontaneous so sometimes we just ate wherever we were. Anyway you look at it, I was able to pay for almost one whole day of my vacation with the money I saved on the Pass. I will recommend this to friends and if we come back to LA I'll get another one."

We saved $300 & saw Tom Hanks!

Our family came to LA and we were trying to choose between the Go LA Card, City Pass and the The LA Perks Pass. The concierge at our hotel said to try the LA Perks Pass because all his guests loved it. He said that all the discount card had the same attraction discounts, but that the LA Perks Pass had some great restaurant and shopping discounts. We also really liked that it was $29.99 compared to the other products that cost over a $100, so it fit our budget. After using the LA Perks Pass I can't tell you how much we loved this product. It literally made our trip. We saved about $300 on food, shopping and amusement parks. Most importantly the food that we ate was AMAZING. The concierge told us that the nicest restaurants in LA participate in the program and he wasn't lying. At one of the restaurants we actually saw TOM HANKS. It literally made my wife and kids year... I can't say enough good things about this product.

The LA Perks Pass is a discount card created by a couple LA concierges. It saves you money on restaurants, shopping, amusement parks, spas, museums, and attractions they recommend. The LA Perks Pass offers the same discount for up to 4 people with one card. Even though the included attractions are somewhat limited, if they're the ones you want, you can save a lot of money with the LA Perks card. They offer a 10-Day-Pass, which is perfect for most visitors, or an Annual Pass for frequent travelers and locals.

Pros
  • The LA Perks Pass is relatively inexpensive
  • The savings can add up, especially for a party of 4
  • You can save the price of the card on one dinner out
  • Includes some top attractions, restaurants and even events
  • It's good for a calendar year
Cons
  • Fewer venues than some other discount programs
  • The "Guidebook" is 2 double-sided pages
  • Some discounts are only applicable for online purchase
  • I found both the website and guide a little confusing(Note: website has been updated)
  • You have less time to use the card if you buy it later in the year(Only applies to Annual Card)

Guide Review - LA Perks Pass - Review of the LA Perks Pass Discount Card
The LA Perks Pass discount card offers dollars-off, percent-off and buy 1/get 1 discounts for a variety of restaurants, shopping, spas and attractions. Most of the discounts simply require you to show your card at the venue. Some require you to purchase online. You can buy a 10-day Pass or an Annual Pass.

The spa discounts are at Burke Williams. The shopping discounts are at The Grove and the Americana at Brand shopping centers. Although limited, they're nice venues. You might find yourself at the Grove and the LA Farmer's Market if you're staying in the Hollywood area or take a Grand City Tour, and Burke Williams has spas in Santa Monica and West Hollywood, among others.

I used the LA Perks card to purchase Universal Studios Hollywood tickets online through the LA Perks website.  If you're not planning to use the 2 days for 1 or other online packages, you can show the card at Universal to get $8 off the gate price or $10 off the Front of the Line pass, which is a good deal if you don't need an extra day and there's no other sale going on.

After I located the Aquarium of the Pacific listing - under Museums instead of Attractions - I had better luck buying Aquarium of the Pacific tickets online. The code provided on the LA Perks pamphlet worked to activate the listed discount.

With the card you get $18 off adult gate admission to Knott's Berry Farm amusement park, which is $9 off the summer online price. In summer, the savings for 4 people going to Knotts more than pays for the price of the card.

I haven't actually tried it on a restaurant, but assuming it works as directed, you can get from 15-25% off food orders (not including beverages) at a variety of restaurants. Some of the restaurants are quite pricey, so 20% off a high end meal for four would also more than pay for the card.

Whether this card will be a good deal for travelers depends on whether you want to visit these particular attractions or whether you might get greater savings from another discount program.

Iif you want to combine just a few attractions (that wouldn't give you your money's worth out of the Go Los Angeles Card) with a few restaurants, or want to spread more things over a long time, you can save tens to hundreds of dollars with the LA Perks Pass.

THE BEST $29.99 OUR FAMILY HAS EVER SPENT. Seriously, our concierge at the hotel we stayed at recommended it to us because we could save at LA's Best Restaurants & Amusement Parks. We saved about $400 in 5 days. It was awesome!!!

My husband and I took our two kids to Los Angeles last week and we saved SO MUCH money. In this economy where every penny counts we could not have had nearly as much fun without the LA Perks Pass. We saved more than the price of this card alone by just by going to Universal Studios. We then used it at the Santa Monica Pier, Knott's Berry Farm, StarLine and a couple of restaurants. Our kids had an amazing time! Thank you so much.
