The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is home to more then 1,100 mammals, birds and reptiles from around the world, including rare and endangered species. Highlights include the new Campo Gorilla Reserve, a lush habitat that closely resembles the gorilla's native environment and features close-up views of the Zoo's two troops of western lowland gorillas. Enjoy watching seals frolic at Sea Life Cliffs, a salt-water habitat that features under-water viewing. Swing into the Red Ape Rain Forest, a multi-level tropical habitat for the Zoo's orangutans. For more primate fun, check out the Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountain, home to one of the largest troops of chimpanzees in the United States. Dragons of Komodo features the Komodo Dragon, the largest lizard in the world. The "World of Birds" show offers an impressive variety of exotic birds. Highlights also include koalas, okapis, tigers, giraffes, lions, snow leopards, a walk-through aviary and much more.
